 This design is based off of Gustave Dore's famous engraving depicting Genesis 32:22-32 wherein Jacob wrestles with God and afterword's is Named Israel, which means "one who wrestles with God." He is depicted as a skeleton in this image because we are meant to put ourselves in his place. The skeleton is a reminder of our mortality and our inevitable end in this life, that we might focus on our ultimate goal which is eternal life in heaven.
